‘ I’m the architect of my life’
This is Cadet . Nandeesh Kabaka from BSC Nautical science final year from Mangalore. It’s been a nice journey out here being a part of HIMT family since three years. I am placed in MITSUI OSK LINES and i want to thank HIMT for giving me chance to build my career at sea and contribute to maritime industry.
Training at HIMT involves an over-all development of cadet making comfortable in air-conditioned classrooms with well sophisticated technology like smartboards and smart TVs with internet access for teaching. Captains, Chief Engineers and other faculties are well experienced with many years of sea experience and good knowledge about shipping .
Different categories of labs here are well equipped with many types of machinaries and equipments like DB tanks and Gangway used in ships for training cadets and make them familiar with the ship . Lab instructors train cadets with good practical knowledge to work at sea with safety. Himt is having latest technology for training cadets like VR training which gives a real experience of being in a ship .
Ship in campus (T.S MADHURIKA) has played a very important role in training cadets for navigation bridge and engine room Familiarisation. The campus is eco-friendly with many types of floras around that makes campus go-green .Hostel Life has made me mingle with friends from different parts of the country and live with them as a family . Food is also very good and hygienically prepared with different menu.
