With a Penchant for Imparting Quality Maritime Training Mr. Vakil started HIMT in 1998. He has helmed with great dedication & professionalism to elevate HIMT as a most reputed Maritime Training Institution with over 2 decades of providing Quality Maritime Training to Mariners.
HIMT which started with Three Modular Courses and by 2001 it became India’s Largest Maritime Training Institute in terms of Number of Courses approved by DG Shipping. HIMT has received several prestigious International Awards & National recognitions. Mr. Vakil has been the 1st Marine Engineer in the World to be conferred with the Fellowship from Nautical Institute , UK. He is also the fellow of Institute of Marine Engineers, Institute of Engineers, Chartered Engineer , MBA. He is also an active Committee member in various professional bodies.



He began his career at sea in 1982 as a deck cadet with the Dredging Corporation of India. Krish later joined the Indian merchant navy through Essar Shipping Ltd and in 1993 gained his Master Class 1 Certificate of Competency after studying at Sydney Technical College in Australia. He served, in ascending capacities, to Master, with Univan, Bergessen Worldwide, Bernard Schulte and Tanker Pacific. In 2007, after seven years of command on ocean-going oil tankers, he came ashore to ship management positions. He joined The Nautical Institute in 1996 and played a key role in setting up the India (South) Branch in 2001. He was elected to the governing Council of the Institute in 2004, became a Vice-President in 2006, and was elected as a Fellow in 2008.



Holding Extra First Class Certificate of Competency issued by DTI, UK. Has sailed as Chief Engineer in various types of vessels and later shifted over to shore in a career spanning over 30 years. Held key Operating Positions in various Shipping Companies which includes being a General Manager and Company Head for Pioneer Marine Services, Chennai, Chief Operating Officer (Tanker & Bulk) for Oman Ship Management Co., OMAN & Vice President with West Asia / ETA ship Management. Has served as Examiner for various levels of Marine Engineering Competency Examination, at Mercantile Marine Department, Chennai. A Visionary with hands on experience in Planning / Execution / HR / Safety & Engineering.



He is a well-known personality in the field of maritime and management training. Currently the Director and CEO of Training solutions International; a training commitment to individuals, organizations and business houses. Has served with SCI as Chief Engineer, he joined SCI office as Dy Engr Supdt in Tanker Dept. His passion for teaching being strong, he has served as a GM and Principal with Anglo Eastern Maritime Training Centre of Anglo Eastern Ship Management Hong Kong & later with Executive Ship Management Singapore to establish their training institution. He joined them as Director and Principal and build up ESM training, Samundra Institute of Maritime studies. A luminary from World Maritime University, Sweden, where he did the Post Graduate studies in MET, Shri Nair is respectfully known as the Bheeshmacharya in maritime training circles.

An experienced, qualified and strategic thinker with over 16 years of experience in marine industry. He heads the Mumbai office. His rich work experience includes Fleet Personnel operations, recruitments, training and development of officers, vessel repairs and Dry Docking, Internal Auditor, development of courses for the organization, Takeovers of vessels for the company from other managements, Yard deliveries from Hyundai SAMHO shipyard, Mokpo, Korea. Conversion Projects from Tanker to FPSO at Sembawang Shipyard. Dry Docking of different kinds of vessels such as VLCC’s, Gas Carriers, Chemical Tankers, AFRAMAXes, SUEZMAXes in Shipyards all around the world.
He is a Master Mariner and has Sailed on different kinds of vessel such as VLCC’s, Suezmaxes, Aframaxes, OBO’s, Gas Carriers, Ethylene Carriers, Chemical Tankers and FPSO’s. His qualification includes Master Mariner (Foreign Going), BSc Nautical Science BITS Pilani, Trainer for Swedish Club Academy for facilitating Marine Resource Management MRM training, Internal Auditor American Bureau of Shipping, Trainer for JRC, TRANSAS and FURUNO ECDIS and TRANSAS bridge simulator course and Trainer for Wellness at sea, Sailor’s society, UK.



Outstanding Scientist and formerly Director, Resources Management Group, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research and Senior Professor, Homi Bhabha National Institute. Presently holding “TV Raman Pai Chair Professor” at National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru and working in the domains of: Science Communication and Risk Communication, Human Reliability Program, Holistic Development of youth by adopting ancient Indian knowledge systems. Made outstanding contributions to realise the dream of starting the BARC Training School programmes at IGCAR, which he was heading till his superannuation. Played an important role in formulating the procedures and implementing the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) programmes at IGCAR, right from its inception. Carried out postdoctoral work at Texas A&M University, USA and at Research Centre, Julich, Germany. He has worked as Guest Scientist at Nuclear Research Centre, Julich, Germany. Five of his students obtained PhD.



Mrs. Tarangini hails from an Educationalist family from Vadodara, Gujarat. After her initial school of education & graduation from Bachelor of Pharmacology from M.S University, Vadodra, Mrs. Tarangini started her career as Chemist with Mercury Pvt. Ltd at Vadodra, Gujarat. She rose in various levels and after a stint of 3 years in the same company. In 1998, she was instrumental in setting up HIMT along with Mr. Sanjeev S.Vakil. She has been managing all the financial activities of all the entities of HIMT Group. Additionally she has undergone the Diploma in Taxation and has been keeping herself updated with all the latest rules and regulations so as to efficiently manage the accounting of HIMT Group of Institutes.



Capt. Ramadass Venkatarao, Master Mariner sailed on various types of ships, including Oil Tanker, Gas tanker and Bulk Cartiers. After taking shore assignment in 2003, worked as branch in charge of a renowned ship management company. He is the part of the founding team and now Director in Synergy, the company that grew steadily and now managing over 200 vessels. He is BSc Physics, MSc Psychology. Interest playing violin and long distance walking.
