Recently, C.S.I St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s Matriculation School had the privilege of hosting an engaging session led by cadets from the HINDUSTAN INSTITUTE OF MARITIME TRAINING (HIMT). Under the guidance of Prof. Uma Maheshwari and Mr.Garish Jerome, this initiative aimed to enlighten students about the dynamic opportunities within the merchant navy, a field that offers exciting career paths and global experiences.
This initiative not only broadened their career horizons but also motivated them to consider the maritime industry as a viable and rewarding option.
During the session, HIMT cadets MD Hidayat Ali, Syamini, Diya, Prince shared their personal stories, detailing their journeys into the maritime industry. They spoke candidly about the challenges they faced and the milestones they achieved, providing a realistic view of life in the merchant navy. Their anecdotes resonated with students, highlighting the determination and resilience required to succeed in this field.
Mr. Garish Jerome enhanced the students’ understanding of the merchant navy by presenting a detailed PowerPoint Presentation. The slides covered various aspects of the industry, including the roles available, the training required, and the potential career pathways. His engaging presentation style captured the students’ attention and made complex information accessible, sparking interest in maritime careers.
The session proved to be an inspiring and informative experience for the students of C.S.I St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s Matriculation School.
