All Diploma students can join the second year of lateral entry B.Tech Marine Engineering course. This 3-year residential course is affiliated with Indian Maritime University (IMU) and approved by D. G.Shipping, Govt. of India. This course leads to Marine Engineering Officer- Class IV Certificate of Competency, awarded by the Ministry of Shipping (Government of India), after six months of sea service after their course.
This course is strictly residential. Course commences on Every year August Month.

Engineering College Graduates (Mechanical/Electrical):- Education: Candidates who have passed the 1st year from an Engineering College in streams like Mechanical or Electrical, approved by AICTE, with a minimum of 60% average marks. Diploma Holders in Engineering:- Education: Candidates who have passed a 3-year Diploma Course in Mechanical / Marine / Electrical / Electrical and Electronics, from colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma Course. Alternate Training Scheme Graduates:- Education: Candidates who have completed the 1st year of training from the Alternate Training Scheme, approved by D.G. Shipping. Note: This criterion is not applicable to MERI. Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering:- Education: Candidates who have passed a 4-year Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the last year of the diploma course. Diploma in Specific Engineering Streams:- Education: Candidates who have passed a 3-year Diploma Course in the following engineering streams, from colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, with a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma Course. Mechanical Engineering Stream: Automobile / Machine Tools and Maintenance / Plant Engineering / Production Technology / Production Engineering / Advanced Diploma in Tool and Die Making. Electrical Engineering Stream: Electrical Power System. Electrical and Electronics Engineering Stream: Digital Electronics / Electronics and Communications / Electronics & Telecommunication / Industrial Electronics / Electronics / Electronics Production & Maintenance / Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Control. - The course fees can be paid Semester-Wise from 2nd Year. Subsequent Semester fees have to be paid Online prior to 1st May and 1st Nov.
- The Application Fee paid is non-refundable
- As per D. G. Shipping Guidelines, passport is mandatory to join the course.
- Caution Deposits are refundable at the end of the course after adjustments of laundry charges & damages, breakages etc., if any.
- Fees paid is forfeited if withdrawn from the Course after the course commencement.
- Admissions are subject to meeting the mandatory requirement of course.
