B.Tech.(Marine Engineering) is a residential 4-year undergraduate engineering program that focuses on the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of ships and other marine vessels. This course is Indian Maritime University (IMU) Affiliated and leads to Marine Engineering Officer- Class IV Certificate of Competency, awarded by the Ministry of Shipping (Government of India), after six months of sea service after their course.
All candidates applying for B.Tech. Marine Engineering Course also needs to appear for a Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY (IMU). Please visit the IMU website (www.imu.edu.in) for details of this CET, and for the modalities of appearing for the CET.

Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects from a recognized board. Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate marks in PCM in 12th Std. 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th Std. Note: Candidates need to get an IMU-CET Rank | Minimum Age Limit: 17 Years. IMU – Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) Schedule
IMUCET is an All India Level Entrance exam. Candidate should apply for both HIMT & IMU-CET, and hold an IMUCET Rank to get their admission for the course.

- Examination Fees & yearly IMU Programme Fees are additional and have to be paid by the candidate to Indian Maritime University (IMU).
- The course fees can be paid Semester-Wise from 2nd Year. Subsequent Semester fees have to be paid Online prior to 1st May and 1st Nov.
- The Application Fee paid is non-refundable
- As per D. G. Shipping Guidelines, passport is mandatory to join the course.
- Caution Deposits are refundable at the end of the course after adjustments of laundry charges & damages, breakages etc., if any.
- Fees paid is forfeited if withdrawn from the Course after the course commencement.
- Admissions are subject to meeting the mandatory requirement of course.
